The Shelf

April 12, 2013 - May 10, 2013
We played a sculpture game, or attempted to invent a language, or maybe just followed a series of (arbitrary) rules in a battle against the tyranny of choice. When finished, we were left with a sequence of objects that speak to the process of working collaboratively while valuing the individual. Each object was created as a response to the object preceding it, gradually revealing our shared material fetish, telepathic abilities, and moments of stubborn individualism.  Finally, through the magic of the grid, the work is evenly distributed with no one thing prioritized over the others. This project was hosted in Xpace’s window gallery.
